Gregory S. Barsh, M.D., Ph.D.

Gregory S.  Barsh

Dr. Barsh is Professor of Pediatrics and of Genetics at Stanford University School of Medicine and Director of the Stanford Medical Scientist Training Program. He received his B.S. degree in biology from the University of California, Irvine, and his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Washington, Seattle. He conducted postdoctoral work on mouse developmental genetics in Charles Epstein's laboratory at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Barsh's laboratory has spent more than a decade using Mendelian disorders of hair or skin color to study fundamental questions related to human biology.



RESEARCH ABSTRACT SUMMARY:

Greg Barsh is interested in understanding the genetic and biochemical mechanisms responsible for mammalian color variation.
